When you are at the park you are usually dressed up in jeans and t-shirts and dressing up your dog with a matching bandana will create the right balance. Most bandannas are inexpensive and to make it interesting you can dress up your dog with a different
dog bandana every day of the
week. It will look good for your dog and certainly he will get number of other admirers.
First you should try to find
the right fabric as this is very much important for the comfort of your dog.
After all, it’s your dog that has to wear it so be sure that the fabric is good
quality. Go for some light weight cotton material or even cotton blend material
would be perfect. Dogs are usually warm blooded animals so they may feel more
heat when playing in a dog park. Make sure the material allows enough
ventilation. Most of these cotton blend materials simply breathe easy and may
also make your dog feel comfortable. Bandanna should be comfortable around the
neck area or else the dog may feel little uneasy wearing it.
Picking up at least a few
different designs will help match the bandanna with the personality of your
dog. The fabric should be cut just the right size so that it easily fits your
dog. For most of the dogs a size of 22 inch by 22 inch would certainly fit the
best unless you have a Great Dane as your pet. So if your dog is much bigger
then try to measure and cut the fabric. You could increase it by another 11
inches or even 22 inches from both the sides.
To wear it, simply fold
diagonally so that the bandana easily fits around the neck area. It is important
that the two ends meet diagonally. You can also try to hem it around half
inches along all the three sides. Sewing them would certainly ensure that the
fabric will not separate. But if you have a very active pooch, then you may
need to select fabric that is very strong and solid so that wore and tear will
be slowed down.
